My name is Meg. I am 32 years old and I live in the beautiful Sierra Mountains of South Lake Tahoe. If you want to learn more about me, click here!
I blame it on a variety of things. My new hobby of ballroom dancing and my love for antiques and 1950s crooners have been big factors!
I’m a curvy girl. A lot of clothes don't really flatter my figure and because of that, I always took it out on what my mama gave me which doesn’t make sense! Why was I doing that? I should be wearing clothes that make me feel PROUD of what I have. Goodbye skinny jeans, hello high-waisted pants and swing dresses.
I totally understand! In fact - I have to be very selective when it comes to shopping for authentic vintage clothes (because if I’m not, I will fall down a black hole and somehow be in the negative)! I will however give you two pieces of advice:
Which brings me to my sub-point: Go in with a purpose. Sure, it's fun to go in and have a field day swiping whatever, but from what I’ve noticed - If I have a clear objective of what I’m looking for then my money isn’t being tossed around so easily. Are you looking for a wide brimmed hat? A high waisted skirt? A long coat? Or maybe you're just looking for a certain accessory. Limit yourself to 1-3 items that you’re searching for - trust me, this is a game-changer.
That’s probably the most difficult question I’ll ever answer on this blog. I have a variety that are my absolute favorites - the 1920s, 1940s and 1950s. But out of all the decades, I have a very soft spot for the 1950s.
